The Netherlands (or Holland as it's also known) is a fun place to travel. The trains go to just every small town and large city, and are quick and efficient.
Beware of pick-pockets on many of the trains though, especially around larger cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Keep an eye on your belongings, and never let them out of your site.
Amsterdam has great museums to explore such as the Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh museum to name a couple. Each city has much to offer, and the Dutch people are very friendly and kind to strangers. Just about everyone speaks English very well, and communication is rarely a problem.
One of the most famous reasons people go to Holland is because of the legalization of Marijuana and other 'soft' drugs. You can find them eveywhere, but beware buying anything from people on the streets. Get what you want at designated coffee shops, and have fun.
The Netherlands is a great place to travel through, especially if you combine it with Belgium and Luxembourg, on your way to France or Germany.
