Luxembourg may be one of the smallest countries in the world, but it is certainly one of the most picturesque. Luxembourg City itself is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and for good reason.
It's defintely worth a day or two to stop and explore Luxembourg City, and the rest of the country as well. There is much to see and do, and much of Luxembourg's old cities have been preserved well over time. You can really get a feel for medieval Europe when wandering the streets of Luxembourgs' old cities.
The train system in Luxembourg is pretty straight forward. The largest train station is of course the one in Luxembourg City. You can find trains connecting to all parts of Europe, and many people in the country speak English very well, and definitely French and German.
It's also very easy to combine a hop over to Luxembourg on any trip through the low countries, or when travelling between Germany and France.
