You have to do it - Traveling through the Swiss Alps with the train is a must-see and do thing when you're in Europe.
The Swiss rail system is timely and efficient, and you'll meet friendly people and other travellers along the way. The train routes around Geneva, Zurich, and most notably Interlaken offer some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Europe, if not the world.
The only problem with Switzerland is that it is extremely expensive. You can really blow a budget here. That's why it's great to have a Eurail pass which will save you a lot of money on train travel throughout the country.
Although Switzerland is small (you can go from one side to the other in just a couple of hours!) there are a lot of things to see and do packed into this little mountain country. There are four official languages (German, French, Italian, Romansch) and each section of the country is as culturally diverse as the next. Even towns are split along languages, with one half speaking French and on the other side of the street people will speak German.
There are also many many outdoor activities you can enjoy - hiking, hang-gliding, mountain biking and skiing just to name a few. Switzerland is a must see!
