Eurail Hungary - Budapest Train Stations Info and Reviews

Budapest Keleti pu

Like most of the many train stations in Budapest, and Hungary, Keleti pu is relatively small but handles a large volume of traffic. If you're arriving from Vienna, chances are you'll stop here.

When you get off the train you'll probably be surrounded by taxi drivers and people offering you a place to stay -It's best if you arrange these things yourself, you'll probably save money.

There are only a few tracks at Budapest's Keleti pu and so it shouldn't be hard to find your train. The ticket booth people speak English (if you go to the International booth) at least well enough to get you on the right train.

Watch out for pick pockets and keep an eye on your bags. Better safe than sorry, though I've never had any trouble there.

Just outside of the train station you'll find access to the Budapest Metro which can take you straight downtown - Just be sure to buy a ticket first, or you might get fined.
