This is a small and very simple station. Trains come from only 2 directions, north and south. If you are heading towards the Hague, or Amsterdam, stand on the platform right outside the station. If you are heading to Rotterdam or on to Belgium, walk out of the main station, go under the tracks and come out on the other platform.
In the station itself, there is an Albert Heijn store, where you can buy snacks, drinks etc. Inside the station, there is a book/newspaper store, and a fast food place. Just outside, there is a bike rental place on the right, and an ATM on the left.
If you walk straight out of the station over the canal and over the tram tracks, you are in the middle of the old town.
If by any chance you find yourself in Holland on New Year\'s Eve, keep in mind that the dutch rail shuts down at around 8 pm, after which there is no way of getting to where you need to go until the next morning (well, except for paying ridiculous amounts of money for a taxi)
