The Geneva train station is set right downtown in Geneva, and conveniently connected to local buses. You'll be bale to connect to other trains heading all over Switzerland, France, Italy, and other neighbouring countries.
The train station itself isn't very large. When you first arrive, you'll most likely have to show your passport to customs, as Switzerland isn't part of the EU. The train station is also very clean though, and crime is almost non-existent.
There are a number of good accomodation options in and around the train station, and no shortage of shops to pick up any supplies. The bus station right out front will take you to anywhere else in the city you need to go.
